First Dinner at the New House

She's reciting a blurb from Tangled; Rapunzel has Flynn Riders satchel hidden in the tower and she tells him that he can "tear apart the tower brick by brick but he'll never find his precious satchel" (of course she puts her own spin on it).

The new house is a hit and has been a smooth transition!

We are HOME!

This is our forever home... what an amazing feeling! The move went extremely smoothly, we had  about 8 people helping us. We started around 7:30 and we were done by 11:30!


I can't wait for you to see our forever home :)

Grandparents Day

Hi everyone- 

Invitations for Grandparents Day are being sent home today but KA won’t see them until Monday. 

So the details are as follows: 

WHEN:  October 26, 2011 (WED)

TIME:  9-11:15 am

PLACE:  Edmonton Christian NE School

Schedule of Events: 

      9-10:15   Visiting Classrooms (special things going on at each classroom)

10:15-10:45  Coffee and Cake

10:45-11:15  Student-led Program (in the auditorium)

***Please note:  Even though KB does not have a regularly scheduled class during this time, they are still welcome to attend with a grandparent or special friend but they must remain in the care of the person they come with for the whole time. 

RW's First Hockey Game

What a an awesome way to spend my Sundays. Seriously, Colin & I were beaming from ear to ear watching our little guy in full hockey gear and wearing his teams jersey and socks. Words cannot express the joy it brings us when our little guy is cheering on his team from the sidelines and is excited to hit the ice and be a part of his team.
He ended up playing goalie 4 times and seemed to love that position (every time he got on the ice he was asking coach) and he did quite well especially since he has 0 puck handling experience!
Daddy had the cowbells in full force, it was adorable to see the excitement in his eyes... he is the epitome of a proud Father. There's something beautiful about watching your husband watch his son, it gives me goosebumps.

This week I'll be sure to bring my video or camera. He's too stinkin cute!

Dance Classes

Nan & Grandpa came to watch Lana's class tonight and both of them got to do a little dancing with the girl! She LOVES this class!! I splurged and bought her a bodysuit and skirt, it was a BIG hit but she's disappointed that her slippers don't match the rest of her outfit so I told her I'd take her to the dance store to pick up some proper shoes that will match the rest of her "ensemble".

If anyone else want to come a view/participate, Lana has classes every Friday night @ 6!!

Updates

RW

He had his school pictures done yesterday morning! We spent a good 10 mins in front of the mirror practicing how to smile nicely. Last year we didn't order any photos because his shoulders engulfed his neck in all of the pics.
Last night was parent-teacher interviews and Mrs. Esser was very happy with him. She LOVES his enthusiasm and his class participation. She noted that when school first started he was trying to interrupt and talk over people but he's trying SO hard to put up a quiet hand, I guess when he has something to say he'll blurt something out, catch himself doing it, cover his mouth with one hand and raise his other. (Good job Robbie!) He can identify 20 letters out of the alphabet which she said is great!!(I had a peek at her sheet and it looks like a lot of the kids are in the teens.) She also mentioned that he's a ladies man and it all depends on the day, some days he's an Abi fan and others he's on Elise (she was in RW's soccer team) fan... apparently today it was all about Abi. LOL!

Lana

The big news with this girl is that she peed on the potty twice yesterday at the day home!! We were packing RW's school bag when she told me she wanted to bring her pretty undies to Christies. So she grabbed 5 pairs and put them in her backpack. She wanted to wear her bag while we dropped off RW and she was doing everything he was doing - she wanted to take off her outdoor shoes and she gave me a kiss goodbye as RW did the same. I dropped her off at Christies and thought it was just a novelty but when I picked her up she's jumping up and down telling me she went pee on the potty and that Christie gave her two timbits for going pee! She didn't have any accidents while she was there. Of course when she came home she absolutely refused to go pee for me :( I think I'm going to have to rent Christie for a couple of days, lol!!)

Meyself

The kids and I went down to see my family this past weekend (excluding Al & Steve, they were away on their dreamy Europe trip) it was SO nice to see everyone. I wish it could have been a longer visit but our lives are pretty busy right now!
Last night Damaris was kind enough to watch the kids so that I could go meet up with Mrs. Esser. The kids had a great time together. Lana and Alyssa played really well together (Alyssa is Abi's little sister, she's a couple months older that Little L and HOPEFULLY they'll be in the same preschool class together next year!) Damaris insisted on feed all of us left over turkey dinner, apparently the kids gobbled down their dinner so that they could play.
Paul was super sweet, he was telling me that they're going to clean the carpets for us before Nov 1st. I told him he didn't have to do that but he insisted on it.
The kids were really digging the house. Abi was showing the kids all the good hiding spots and they were running around and screaming after each other (P&D allow it... until someone gets hurt :P)

RW's Hockey

This just in!

RW's hockey team is called "The Mavericks" and he has Evan on his team!!! Evan was his best bud in preschool last year and unfortunately, this year, they're not in the same Kindergarten class - it will be nice to spend some time with him and his family again :)

His first practice is on the 15th, looks like he'll have hockey practice every Saturday. Apparently every week there will be 1 practice and 1 game, I really hope everyone can come and watch RW... it's our happy (yet cold!) place!!

GRANDPARENTS DAY

I figure I would post the info here and if any of the Grandparents want to participate, just let me know!!

Here's what Mrs. Esser sent me:

This is an annual community-building event where students get to have their grandparents (or other special friend) come to school and participate in special activities.  This year, Grandparents Day will be on October 26 in the morning.  **Please note that because KB does not have class on this day, they are still welcome to attend this event but must be accompanied by their grandparents/special friend and will be asked to remain in their care for the entire morning.  Further details will be posted once they are available.  Mark this day on the calendar, PLEASE!

For obvious reasons I won't be posting our actual address. As of November 01, 2011 we will be proud owners of our very first home!!!


Want to hear a big kicker? This home is currently occupied by someone extra special. Who? None other than RW's main squeeze - ABI ! I find it quite erie how our worlds seem to keep coming together.

Lana's room is at the top of the stairs and to the left. That room in the distance will be RW's and ours is right across from his.

Lana's First Dance Class

She's been talking about how she gets to go to "dancy classes" for a while now, she's very excited to dance just like Strawberry Shortcake and Plum Pudding do in her book. We didn't know what to expect going in there but I was quite impressed with the dance rooms. Miss Sheri had us sit around a colored parachute while she went over what to expect from our kids and how to encourage them to do the tasks. Lana sat in my lap for the first 20mins of it, it was pretty overwhelming - all these strangers singing and dancing! After that she was totally into it, hopping like a bunny, marching like a soldier, doing log rolls and bear walks.

I was so proud of my little girl, you could tell she was nervous but she pushed through it and really enjoyed herself :D

I need to find her a cute bodysuit/tutu!!

Mommy's Been Kicked Out...

We were watching Survivor when Daddy decided to go to bed early. After a couple of minutes she told me she wanted to give him a good night kiss, I went to go check on them and this is what I found.

Seeing as though I still have my cough I think I'll sleep upstairs so that these two can have a nice sleep together and my coughing won't disrupt any sleeps :)

This guy is learning his forties, fifties, sixties, one hundreds and one hundred and tens! How? Not by activity books but by reading the speed signs! He mixes up his 8's and 6's every now and then but he's getting SO good!!

My son has now decided he wants to be a Paleontologist when he grows up. We spent AN HOUR in the sand pits while he "dug" for dinosaur bones, he was so into it.

Now if only he could say Paleontologist!! hehe.

Kindergarten

Well... here I am. Alone (well technically I've got two black labs, but they're snoozing so they don't count :P). At my desk. Thinking about how I got to this point in time. My little man is off in Kindergarten and my little girl is at the day home *insert sigh* I don't know how I feel about this.


Anyways, it gives me a chance to blog and semi-catch up on our life. After this post I'm off to snuggle with Baby Charlize!


RW had his first full day of Kindergarten on Friday. It sounds like he had a great time, the highlight of his day was finding out that every Friday they do the chicken dance! He discovered that his buddy from preschool, Isaiah, is in Kindergarten C which runs the same time his class does - just in a different room. So during his two recesses he's out messing around with him!

Mrs. Esser sent this home for us. It made me all teary eyed... what a thoughtful teacher!!


We went to the parent meet 'n' greet and we got the low down on what to expect throughout the year and the different themes each month. I signed up to be the on the scrapbook committee and to help with the class website. It kills me that I can't sit out front of the classroom and peek in and see what my little man is up to (in fact, we have to wait in the main lobby and Mrs. Esser brings the kids to us at the end of the day) so working on the scrapbooks I get to see all the crafts that they're doing & working on the website will give me a direct line to the teacher so that I can be in the loop... Dang, I wish I was qualified to be a teachers aide. LOL!


Little Lana is doing amazing. She brings a tear to my eye every morning when she climbs into bed with me, kisses me and says "I love you Mommy". This weekend we got her her first pair of figure skates!! These days they actually put the skates in a little oven, heat them up and then strap them onto the child's foot so that the skate molds to their foot! My little girl looks.... like a little girl. Walking around in her white leather skates, pulling a fancy skating bag and pink gloves.
